- The GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON became a nerve-wracking test for Kerstin Abele, a handbiker paralyzed from the waist down from Hüttlingen in Baden-Württemberg, demanding everything from her except giving up. "Giving up has never been an option for me."
- Fotyen Tesfay pulverized the course record of the GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON. Amanal Petros has written a chapter in German running history. What's more, it was by far the biggest and most spectacular German half marathon with a record number of 40,721 runners from 135 nations.
