GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON postponed to August 22, 2021

In recent months, we have worked intensively on hygiene concepts and have discussed measures for the safe implementation of the GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON for April 11, 2021. The concern for the health of all participants as well as the uncertainty of the future situation regarding the COVID-19 pandemic at least until spring have now led us to postpone the GENERALI BERLINER HALF MARATHON 2021 once again: from April to August 2021. The new event date is August 22, 2021.

Cancellation of the 50th Berlin New Year's Run

After the cancellation of the Spielbank Berlin New Year's Eve Run we had hoped to start out an active new year with the Berlin New Year's Run, as usual. Registration for the drawing of the starting spots for the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON 2021 begins

At the moment, it is raining records and best times among the top athletes. For example, Kenenisa Bekele’s old world record in the 10,000 metres was cracked. Joshua Cheptegei broke it with a time of 26:11.00 minutes. Two weeks ago, Melat Kejeta won silver at the half-marathon world championship, spectacularly beating the German record. Thousands of athletes worldwide take part in the 2:01:39 Challenge

Even if the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON scheduled for this weekend was not held as planned, Saturday and Sunday in the sports metropolis of Berlin were nevertheless completely dedicated to sports. As part of the #20139 Challenge, athletes from around the world competed to find out how many kilometers they could complete in 2:01:39 hours. This time corresponds to the world record set by Eliud Kipchoge in 2018 at the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON.

BMW extends BMW BERLIN-MARATHON title partnership

BMW and SCC EVENTS, organiser of the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON, have announced the extension of the title partnership, which has been in place since 2011, at Germany's largest marathon. Today, the 42 fastest kilometres on the international running calendar would have been started for the 47th time in total and for the tenth time with BMW as title partner. Despite the cancellation of this year's BMW BERLIN-MARATHON due to the Corona Pandemic, first-class sport will be presented in the capital today.

The summer holidays are just around the corner - who is thinking about New Year's Eve now? We are. We are officially opening registration for the 45th Spielbank Berlin Silvesterlauf on June 22, 2020. For both Berliners and tourists, this athletic end to the year is simply an integral part of the celebrations. We will run at, on and around the Berlin hills, Teufelsberg and Drachenfliegerberg. There are nice courses for both young and old, leaving plenty of energy for late night celebrations.

New block of starting spots for the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON via Run for CHILDREN

Run for CHILDREN stands for the joint charitable action between the children’s aid organisation Children for a Better World and the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON. For the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON 2020, SCC EVENTS will provide 100 free starting spots beginning on February 3, which can be acquired for a minimum donation of 1,000 Euro.
